Moms Without A Mom

This weekś episode is about parenting when that essential person is no longer in your life, your mom.

We are joined by Melissa Reilly, Psy.D., a mother of two boys, clinical psychologist, and a Moms Without A Mom coach.

Melissa is passionate about helping mothers who no longer have the support and guidance of a loving mother influence in their day-to-day life. She shares anecdotes and strategies to evolve oneself from feelings of overwhelming insecurity and isolation to a stronger position of resilience.

Melissa shares her personal and professional experience working with her clients and her observations of how she came to recognize that moms in this similar position often experience grief as part of their motherhood journey.

Psychologist and Moms Without a Mom Coach

Melissa Reilly, Psy.D. is a mom of two boys, clinical psychologist, and Moms Without A Mom coach. She is passionate about helping mothers who don't have the support and guidance of a loving mom in their day-to-day life move from feelings of insecurity, isolation, and overwhelm to a place of resilience. Through her personal and professional experience, she has come to recognize that Moms without a mom experience grief as part of their motherhood experience, even if they don't realize it. The relationship moms have had (or didn't have) with their mothers impacts how they see themselves but doesn't define them. She believes it isn't knowledge and skills that create resilience; instead, it is born through overcoming hardship, having a community, and living by one's values. She is honored to walk with moms on their journey to becoming the mom they always wanted to be. Melissa's psychological practice, Shoudt & Reilly Psychological Services, has been serving residents of Berks County, Pennsylvania, for over 22 years. She is now expanding her services to include coaching for Moms Without a Mom, which can be accessed by women worldwide through her website momswithoutamom.com.
